Terms of use.

These terms cover the hosted reportbin service at https://reportbin.dev and the reports it serves from reportbin.page. "We" and "us" refer to the operator of this service. By creating an account or uploading or managing reports, you agree to these terms. The Privacy Policy explains how the service handles data, including when you read someone else's report.

1. The service

reportbin hosts HTML reports and gives each one a link. The hosted beta is currently free. It is not a backup or guaranteed archive. Keep your own copy of anything you need.

You must be at least 16, meet any higher minimum age required where you live, and be legally able to agree to these terms. If you act for an organisation, you must have authority to do so.

2. Accounts and upload keys

Sign in with Google or GitHub through Clerk. You are responsible for the reports you upload and the people or tools you authorise to use your account. Check what a coding agent or script is about to publish.

Keep upload credentials secret. If a connected device's credential leaks, revoke that connection. If your manual key leaks, rotate the manual key. Rotating the manual key does not revoke connected devices.

The hosted beta's default limits are 50 MiB of compressed report storage per account and 20 MiB per original HTML upload. Rate limits also apply. Your account page shows your storage allowance and lets you delete reports or your account.

3. Sharing and access

  • Only me: the owner must sign in to read the report.
  • Selected people: the owner and accounts with an allowed, verified Google or GitHub email can read it. reportbin does not send invitations.
  • Anyone with the link: no sign-in is required. Anyone who obtains the link can open it.

Uploads use your account's default access unless you choose an explicit upload option. The initial default is Anyone with the link. You can change the default to Only me or Anyone with the link for future uploads. Existing reports keep their settings, which you can change separately.

Links may be forwarded or exposed by browsers, extensions and messaging tools. Restricting access prevents future reads by people who are no longer allowed. Deleting a report prevents new reads through the service. Neither action can recall copies someone already saved. The server operator can access stored reports. Restricted access is not encryption against the operator.

You may include personal or confidential information if you have the right to upload it and share it with the intended readers. Use Only me or Selected people when access should be limited. Do not upload passwords, API keys, access tokens or highly sensitive personal data, such as identity documents, payment card details or medical records, even with restricted access.

Uploaded HTML can run scripts and contact external services. Keep reports self-contained and open reports only from sources you trust.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of your content. You give us permission to store, compress, copy and serve it according to its sharing settings, and to handle security, abuse reports and legal requirements. This permission is limited to operating the service, including operational backups described in the Privacy Policy.

You must have the right to upload and share your content and to supply any recipient addresses. You must not use reportbin for:

  • illegal content or activity, or infringement of copyright, privacy or other rights;
  • malware, phishing, deceptive data collection or unauthorised access;
  • hateful, harassing or threatening content, or sexual exploitation, including of children;
  • spam, attacks, evasion of access controls or attempts to overload the service.

Reports are supplied by their authors. Hosting a report does not mean we endorse it or have checked its accuracy or safety.

5. Availability and backups

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, indefinite retention or recovery of deleted reports. No security measure can eliminate every risk.

We may change limits or suspend or close the service for maintenance, security, legal requirements or operational reasons. We will provide notice where the law requires it. Operational backups, if any, are not a recovery service for users.

6. Removal and reporting abuse

We may restrict or remove reports, revoke credentials or suspend accounts to address a breach of these terms, security risks, abuse or legal requirements. We do not routinely review every report. This does not limit our obligations to act on valid notices or lawful orders.

Use the contact route below to report abuse or request review of a restriction. Include the exact report URL, why you believe it is unlawful or breaks these terms, and a way to reply. For a rights complaint, explain your rights or authority to act. Confirm that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Do not post private information publicly.

We assess notices through human review and may request more information. Where required by law, we acknowledge notices, communicate decisions and explain restrictions and available remedies. We may act urgently or limit notice where necessary for security or legal reasons.

7. Liability and your legal rights

To the extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service, including lost business profits or business interruption.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. This includes liability for fraud, and for death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable law protects it. These terms do not remove mandatory consumer rights, data-protection rights or remedies for our failure to meet duties imposed by law.

8. Third-party claims

If you use reportbin for business purposes, and to the extent permitted by law, you agree to reimburse reasonable losses and costs from third-party claims caused by your unlawful uploads or deliberate misuse of the service. This does not cover losses caused by our own breach or misconduct, and does not take away rights or defences the law gives you. We will give you notice of such a claim and a reasonable opportunity to respond.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes to the service, security needs or legal requirements. We will update the date on this page and provide notice of material changes through the service or your account contact where required by law. Changes apply prospectively. You can stop using the service and delete your account if you do not accept revised terms.

10. Other terms

If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining terms continue to apply to the extent allowed by law. These terms do not override mandatory laws that protect you where you live. The sign-in providers' own terms apply to your use of their services.
